What is Foodservice?
Foodservice includes restaurants and businesses (think universities, hotels, airlines, sports stadiums, concert arenas) that prepare and sell food outside of the home.
Foodservice is a distinctly different business model than retail and DTC, and requires in-depth knowledge of the customer insights, marketing nuances, and distribution channels to be successful.
Why should my brand launch into Foodservice?
Aside from the increased revenue that naturally comes with expanding into a new channel (Foodservice generated $898 billion in 2022!), brand exposure is perhaps the best reason to launch into Foodservice. Consumers regularly try new products in a Foodservice setting that prompts them to become loyal customers, resulting in an increase in retail, DTC, and foodservice business.

We’ll be the first ones to say it - foodservice is a complex channel. It requires an intricate understanding of the various distributors and their requirements, in depth understanding of operators, and a strategic approach to infiltrate a given market. Without the proper alignment on all of the above factors and a go-to-market strategy, it can be very difficult to build a successful Foodservice channel.
That is why we are here! Our in-depth knowledge and proven track record within the Foodservice channel allows the companies we work with to bypass many of these common hurdles.
